Qld-Port Douglas

On the Inlet

“On the Inlet” is a great seafood restaurant near the Marina.
Every night at 5:00 the place is packed with people watching the feeding of George the grouper. George and his two grouper friends are massive and it was fun watching them being fed with huge fish heads. It is a beautiful place to sit watching the sunset and they also have a delicious light menu as well as the dinner menu.
Our neighbours, Colleen and Adam, were up here on holidays and we chose this restaurant to have our final meal up here together.
Mike and I shared a very tasty clam chowder which was so yummy that I didn’t really want to share. My main course was the tempura sample seafood plate. Beautiful presentation and cooked to perfection.
When we told our waitress, Ella, about our website, she mentioned it to the chefs and we were presented with a complimentary Panna Cotta. It is the lightest and tastiest that I have ever had.
The “Liquid Desert” intrigued us and we weren’t disappointed. The chefs put so much effort into the presentation that you almost didn’t want to disturb the design.
